NFL Tidbits

Another Fantasy Football season gone by, and another disappointing season for yours truly. Once again I have a stellar consolation bracket performance to secure fifth place. It’ll be a long offseason, with a lot of soul searching for the St. Viatuer Bagels.

Congrats to Danny Kennedy for getting hot at the right time and taking the World Football Federation championship home from the number 4 seed with a 145-116 victory. For you trivia buffs out there, the only team to score more points this week was the Bagels, with 147.

Now for some real-world NFL commentary…

Is it me, or did you feel like John Madden would have absolutely lost it if the NBC director had cut to one more shot of Carrie Underwood?

As an aside, I watched the entire Cowboys/Eagles game just to hear Madden zing the pathetic Giants. Happened with about 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter:

Michaels: Believe it or not, the Giants own their own destiny.
Madden (bumbling): I..I don’t think…you know…the Giants don’t own anything right now…

It is nearly a day later, and at last report, Miami and the Jets are still locked in a scoreless tie.

Jim Mora (Junior) should probably start getting quotes from moving companies, as his days in Atlanta seem to be numbered. He is also this week’s winner for most ridiculous rationalization:

I’m proud of this football team. Our football team did some things that are overlooked when you lose a football game.

Jim, this kind of thing wouldn’t fly in pop warner, you’d have a parental protest before the orange slices got cold. It sure won’t fly when you have Michael Vick and some other pretty darn good offensive weapons at your disposal. Plus, you play in the NFC South. Plus, you play in the NFC.

How many teams would give anything for Jeff Garcia right now?
